Part 0.5

For local medical graduates, usually we start the application way before graduation, even had the SPA interview before final exams. But as for me, I did not apply for it along with my classmates as I have my own plan. What I did was I applied for SPA a lil bit later and hence bought myself some extra time to do some travelling post MBBS. :p

So how is the whole process like?

Firstly, you will need to apply for the Pegawai Perubatan UD41 position through SPA website: www.spa.gov.my . Afterwards, you will be contacted by them and be given an interview date, or you can email them and specify which date you would prefer for the interview.

Before the interview day, and if you are doing this as me (i.e. doing the interview after you have passed your final exam, and considered graduated), you can go straight to MMC to apply for the probationary license to practice medicine. Download and fill this form (choose one appropriate for your status) first and take with you copies of the required documents.

On the interview day, you will need to bring along with you documents as listed below:

1. A resume with latest passport sized photo
2. copy of IC/MyKAD
3. copy of birth certificate
4. copy of SPM certificate
5. copy of academic transcript
6. copy of MMC registration

What do they ask during the interview? Nothing much, during my session, there was 4 of us in the room; group interview. They asked questions focused on medico-legal issue. Not much of medical questions.

So...that's it for now. Next I will share about the subsequent process involved before induction course...

Part 0

So here I am. Starting another new blog. Again.

I never wanted to write my experience down actually, but a friend suggested me to do this, and something happened today that made me decided to just start this.

So...where do I start? What's so special about MY housemanship journey? How does it differs from others out there? I'll share it bit by bit.

To start it off, my housemanship journey actually dated back to 2006, when I got into Foundation in Scienced programme in CUCMS, and then the degree blablabla.

I pretty much enjoyed my 6 years of studying medicine. I had awesome teachers/lecturers/professors to guide me and wonderful friends to enjoy it with. Sure I had my ups and downs in med school but I got through it and that is all that matters.

I want to keep my first post short. I will write further in my next post: applying for house officer post (Pegawai Perubatan Siswazah UD41).
